What is a 
Cash Discount Program?

  • A cash discount program is an incentive for customers to pay with cash in order to receive a discount!  
  • Cash discount programs encourage cash payments by passing credit processing fees, normally paid by the merchant, to the customer.   
  • The prices shown in your store are the cash prices and customers will see a service fee added to their receipt s a separate line item. To have the service fee discounted or cancelled out, all they have to do is pay using cash. 

How It Works?

  • The WPN Cash Discount Program is designed to encourage customers to use cash to pay for their purchase!
  • As part of the regular retail, service, or product pricing, a small service charge of $3.5 is applied to all sales.
  • A discount is automatically applied when customers pay with cash.
  • No discount is given when paying by debit card, credit card, or check.
  • Merchant only need to pay $35 monthly fee to use the program.

  • 1.What is a cash discount program?

    WPN Cash Discount program providing you a new method of implementing a service fee to all customers who pay with a card, while providing a discount to those who pay with cash.


  • 2. How it works?

    1.Price Good

    Businesses enrolled in our cash discount program will price their goods with the cost of processing feeds included. For example. 1-hour foot massage $40.00 with $3.5 processing fee, they would price this item at $40.00 plus $3.50, that is $43.50


    2. Signage

     When your customer checks out, they will sea signage (which we provide) that explains the price listed os for credit card purchases and if they pay by cash, they will receive a discount. In this example, we used $3.5, so the discount is $3.5


    3. Payment

    If the customer pays with a credit card, they will pay the amount of $43.50 in total. If they pay with cash, the receipt will show the cash discount amount of $3.5, that is being discounted from the overall amount of $43.5, so they pay $40.00


    4. ZERO fees

    You eliminate your credit card processing fees while providing your customers an option to receive a discount with no cost to you.


  • 3.What is required by law to be cash discount complaint?
    • Merchant must display signage at point of entry (In-store & Online)
    • Merchant must display signage at point of transaction(Checkout stand & checkout page online)
    • Charge to customer cannot exceed 4% and cannot exceed the amount they currently pay for credit card processing. i.e. if you are currently paying an effective rate of 3%, you cannot price higher than 3%.
    • Receipts must accurately display Cash Discount in the same font for all transactions.
  • 4. What we do for you
    • We provide all signage that needs to be placed at point of entry and register in-store 
    • We will never charge greater than 4% on any credit or debit card transaction.
    • Our receipt clearly displays “Non-Cash Charge” separately and in the same size and font as other text on the receipt.
    • We provide Cash Discount Compliant Terminals which are PCI compliant, NFC, and EMV ready
  • 5. Can I implement the program myself?

    When a fee is incorrectly applied to a transaction, any additional fee charged to those consumers using a credit card is labeled a Surcharge and that is expressly forbidden by Visa, Mastercard, and the processing provider without taking very specific steps .The way around this process is to allow us to automate a Cash Discount Program for you which is different than the Surcharge. We will automate your equipment so that the $3.50 Service Fee is automatically added for those customers using any method of payment other than cash (essentially credit cards), but those who pay with cash receive a discount.

    By utilizing the WPN Cash Discount program, we establish proper pricing for you to ensure you stay within all stated guidelines.

  • 6. Won’t my customers be upset by this fee and want to go elsewhere?

    In fact, surveys have shown that over 80% of respondents stated they wouldn’t think twice about paying a $3.50 Service Fee for the convenience of using their credit card rather than carrying cash. And we all know that fewer and fewer of us are carrying cash these days…and everyone loves the rewards associated with their credit cards.

  • 7. What if I don’t like the Cash Discount Program after a few days, weeks, or months?

    If for any reason you wish to discontinue WPN Cash Discount Program, we will immediately change you back to traditional interchange pricing.

  • 8. Will the Cash Discount Program totally eliminate my monthly card processing fees?

    Most merchants will see some small fees on their bill as it’s hard to get every transaction to zero out completely, based on all the variances in the interchange billing structure. That said, we typically see the monthly fees drop down below $100 per month.
